Walking on Water

 What does the walking on water mating dance of the Great Western Grebe have to do with
our lives in Christ? This rather ridiculous question may go unanswered,
but this whole walking on water thing needs to be discussed.

Walking on Water

I was sharing with a friend that studying the accounts of Jesus walking on the water always leaves me with the impression that I am just scratching the surface of deep, deep spiritual truth. Well, for the next few weeks we’re going to “scratch away” as we delve into the three separate gospel accounts of this unusual encounter.

One of the lessons of this story must surely involve steps of faith, or (to put it in other words) steps of faith.

To help us get started, please consider these thoughts of one of my favorite authors, Madeline L’Engle, as she invites us to engage even the most basic realities of life by taking risks:
